About California Proposition 65

Safety Information

Proposition 65 informs California consumers to warnings for products that contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and other reproductive harm if exposure to such chemicals reach above certain threshold levels. We know you’re concerned about product safety, and Expion360 takes all necessary steps to comply with all applicable safety and health requirements. California has identified hundreds of these chemicals, including lead, carbon monoxide, and phthalates. While many Expion360 products do not contain such chemicals, it is reasonably foreseeable that the normal use of an Expion360 product could expose consumers to several listed chemicals (e.g. while working around engine compartments and electrical systems). Out of an abundance of caution and in consultation with legal counsel, Expion360 will include a "short-form" warning that complies with Section 25602 of Chapter 27 of the California Code of Regulations on all products:

Listed Carcinogens and Reproductive Toxicants

California requires the following notice:

WARNING: These products can expose you to chemicals including Carbon-Black Extract, Lead and Lead Compounds, Nickel Compounds, and Styrene which [are] known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Passenger and Off-Highway Motor Vehicles Exposure

California requires the following notice:

WARNING: Operating, servicing and maintaining a passenger vehicle or off-highway motor vehicle can expose you to chemicals including engine exhaust, carbon monoxide, phthalates, and lead, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. To minimize exposure, avoid breathing exhaust, do not idle the engine except as necessary, service your vehicle in a well-ventilated area and wear gloves or wash your hands frequently when servicing your vehicle. Recreational Vessel Exposure

California requires the following notice:

WARNING: Operating, servicing and maintaining a recreational marine vessel can expose you to chemicals including engine exhaust, carbon monoxide, phthalates, and lead, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. To minimize exposure, avoid breathing exhaust, service your vessel in a well-ventilated area and wear gloves or wash your hands frequently when servicing this vessel.
